At Community Living Fort Erie (CLFE), we believe in the power of community – especially when it’s rolled up its sleeves and ready to dig in. On a bright and sunny summer day, our Helping Hands Project brought together volunteers, staff, and supported individuals to revitalize one of our residential outdoor spaces.

From laying pea gravel and stone to weeding, gardening, and planting donated shrubs, the day was filled with hard work and heart. It was truly a collaborative effort, and the results were not just a transformed space – but a strengthened sense of community and pride.

We’re thrilled to share that our efforts didn’t go unnoticed. The project was recently featured by two local media outlets:
🔹 Fort Erie Radio
🔹 Niagara News This Week

We’d like to extend our sincere thanks to both outlets for helping shine a light on the importance of inclusive community involvement and volunteerism. Your coverage helps amplify the impact of projects like these.

We’re also incredibly grateful to our community partners for their generous donations:
– Canadian Tire Fort Erie contributed over $300 in shrubs and plants, helping us bring life and colour to the space.
– Shisler Bros. generously donated more than $500 worth of stone and gravel, providing the foundation -literally – for this transformation.

To every volunteer who joined us: thank you. Your hands helped build more than just a garden – you helped grow connection, pride, and belonging.

Together, we’re proving that with a little teamwork and a lot of heart, we can make our community even more beautiful – one project at a time.
