Highlights from our “Christmas Around The World – Christmas in Greece” event!
| We are ecstatic to announce we exceeded our fundraising goal! Because of the hard work of our 2023 Fundraising Committee, and our wonderful sponsors and donors, this year’s event Christmas In Greece raised $49,353.00!! A special thank you to WestJet for their generous Gift of Flight. Since its inception in 2012, our “Christmas Around The World” event has raised over $279,000 for Community Living – Fort Erie. All funds raised are used to further the mission and vision of Community Living Fort Erie and promote inclusive opportunities in our community! |
| On the 18th of November 2023, Community Living Fort Erie had the pleasure of hosting our annual “Christmas Around the World” event, marking a return to in-person gatherings after a four-year hiatus due to the pandemic. We extend our deepest gratitude to our sponsors for their generous support of the “2023 Christmas in Greece” celebration. We would like to offer our heartfelt thanks to our Major sponsors, Garrison Automotive/Napa AutoPro, Canadian Tire-Fort Erie, Century 21/Centum Omni Mortgage Corp, and Boggio & Edwards, whose significant contributions were instrumental in ensuring the event’s financial success. The event’s success was also made possible by the tireless efforts of our dedicated volunteer fundraising team who have been committed since February to orchestrating an exceptional experience for the Fort Erie community. The transformation of the Leisureplex Banquet Hall into a vision of Greek elegance was a highlight of the evening. Adorned with classical Greek columns, effigies of deities such as Athena and Hermes, and a color palette of blue and gold, the venue was further enhanced by olive vines, celebratory banners, golden candles, and illuminated balloons, setting a splendid scene for our attendees. The evening’s entertainment was a celebration of Greek culture, featuring the Niagara Hellenic Dance Group, which brought a taste of Greece to Fort Erie, while belly dancers added a lively and enjoyable dimension to the festivities. The Fort Erie School of Music graced the welcome area with Christmas melodies. Performances by Selena Carlson and Joe Green were nothing short of enchanting. Smartbooth captured the joyous moments, providing a keepsake of the night with complimentary photos for the more than 360 guests in attendance. The raffle and silent auction were successful due to the generous donations from numerous local businesses, and our guests were delighted by the array of prizes they took home. Our exceptional food and beverage team offered exemplary service and a diverse selection of refreshments. Brent Neumann of 13 Carrots catered the event with a sumptuous array of Greek-themed cuisine, while volunteers and students from the Fort Erie International Academy diligently attended to the guests’ needs throughout the evening.
