Due to the generosity of Niagara Community Foundation & HRSDC Service Canada, youth in our community with intellectual challenges will have support finding paid employment and volunteer opportunities!
A gap in services was identified for youth between the ages of 14 and 21. Thanks to The Niagara Community Foundation & HRSDC Canada Summer Jobs we will be able to bridge the gap throughout the summer months.
The Niagara Community Foundation provided funds to hire a Transitional Age Youth Inclusion Coordinator to design and coordinate the implementation of this Summer Program and HRSDC Canada Summer Jobs funded two additional positions to ensure a successful project!
Participants in the program will receive pre-employment training, paid and unpaid placement opportunities that match their individual goals and interests. The skills they build will help ease the transition into adulthood and prepare young adults to live meaningful lives.
The program promotes full inclusion for youth with intellectual challenges living in the community. Without the support of our generous donors this Summer Program would not be possible.
