Our agency has developed and currently offers a variety of Education Sessions.
Sessions currently include:
3R’S – RIGHTS, RESPECT AND RESPONSIBILITIES (for adults)
This training was developed to teach people not only about their rights and how to advocate for their rights; but also about respect and responsibility as they advocate for their rights.Sessions are offered each year and everyone receiving services is encouraged to participate in this training at least once. Training sessions are done with small groups; usually not more than participants in a session. The training reviews rights, respect and responsibility through the use of video scenarios and discussions of the scenario viewed. There is also the use of a board game; cue cards; and a puzzle that may be used depending on the participants attending.
“NO MEANS NO” ABUSE PREVENTION (for adults)
This training is offered as education on abuse prevention. It was developed to help people understand all kinds of abuse and how to advocate for themselves and prevent becoming a victim of abuse.Training sessions are interactive and can be molded to best accommodate the participants communication style. We encourage all people supported to participate in some form of abuse prevention education/training each year and this training has become very successful in delivering the message on abuse prevention.
