Annual General Meeting

On Thursday, June 22, 2017, Community Living~Fort Erie  held their Annual General Meeting at Bridgewater Country Club.  Over 140 people came out to enjoy a lovely meal and to help us celebrate our 60 years of service to the Fort Erie community.   We were also celebrating our Volunteer Recognition, Staff and Inclusion Awards and the retirement of Maureen Brown, our Executive Director.

A new Board of Directors was inducted and a comprehensive written report was distributed to the guests highlighting the accomplishments of our agency including the opening of a new group home.  The written report included: A Risk Assessment Report, Financial Reports, Volunteer Statistics Report , Nominations for the Board of Directors,  an outline of Programs & Services, a recognition of our Donors and Supporters of our Annual Christmas Fundraiser as well as Employee Service years.

We celebrated with a lovely three course meal as well as recognised our volunteers with certificates.  Letters to Commemorate the agency’s 60 years of service were received from the Community Living Ontario, presented by Chris Beasely, CEO and from the province of Ontario presented by Wayne Gates, MPP.

Congratulatory letters were also received by Rob Nicholson, Federal MP, David Johnston, the Governor General & Commander in Chief of Canada and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.  We were also very pleased to have the following guests of honour in attendance: Kim Lymburner, John Corney, Past President, Vicki Moreland, our incoming Executive Director, Al Moreland, Executive Director for Community Living St. Catharines, Sam Curtin of the Ministry of Community & Social Services, Seth & Susan Moyse, and Barbara Vyrostko.
